235 miles (3 days total with first 2 days riding directly into a 20mph average wind with gusts), I thank those who supported this crazy idea for the 2nd year and took care of me at my stops. Wife, kids, grandkids, Tom, Laura, Navins family, Scott L., Henry, all those who answered going as a statement of support, and everyone else I have been in contact with during this ride. Also the vehicle drivers who kept my adrenaline high.
Bike the Drive was my celebration with a grand-daughter(and her dad, :)) along for the ride on Lake shore drive!

Posted May 28, 202 at 10:31 am:  On the subject of sun tan lotion: I applied in the morning only. There is no way I am going to stand on a street corner in tight pants, a bright tight shirt with a Tom Jones type zipper, bend over and/or rub cream on my body! THERE IS NO MANLY WAY TO PERFORM THAT TASK!. It is not wrong, just not me.  Of course any female spectators are welcome to help.

TEXT UPDATES: At 10:07 I was passing by the great lakes navel station just a few miles later at 10:58 I fixed my first flat on a ride. glad it happened on bike trail in Fort Sheridan...Need a new shirt. by 2:27 I was white knuckling through Evanston. by 3:36 I found water again, by 4:26 I had to wait to get south of madison so I stopped at a hot dog joint and had my self a yummy hot dog with a pickle..(hot dogs give you energy right??) by 5:32 I was passing Henry Diazdeleon Mom and Dad house (HI MR AND MRS D!) So I am all in, 9:30 ETA Nuts to Sundown Archer is a Fu$%#in ride at rush hour....WWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

Sharon LOVE it, only you would put it word for word from your dad. Dad should only know what's waiting for him at the Finish line. a nice adult beverage.

Text Update: Been in Illinois for awhile. Do drivers in Il have their brains removed when they get on the road. Twice so far since the IL border I've seen bumpers out of the bottom of my left eye under my left arm! That is 16 inches off my pedals. If i run into a cell phone user like that then I am road kill. Since Lewis didn't have a welcome to IL sign that must be the way they do it down here. You know you're in IL by the drivers! Larry Lawrence J Teeling Sr.

Wednesday ride I was also sick. diarrehea. for 2/3 of ride. 25 or more abrupt stops. Let's just say I am now on a first name basis of with many many many passer byers. Barely had time to stop and get off bike. No more details on poop color needed but it wasn't right.  because it was blood.

Barbara  Thursday begins at 8am...it is a sunny 63 degrees with a Northwest, wait no Southeast, No Northeast , wait Western...oh well, what direction isn't it coming from at about 5.9 mph. Today will be ruff and painful, but PaHa left with encourgement and love and remember at the end is Pride, accomplishment in something most people won't even think about doing....including me lol !! LOVE YOU DADDY! Be safe, and only think the positive because we are cheering for you!!

Barbara These were the signs the kids were holding up for PAHA as he came down sheridan road to the finishline of our driveway...they also had bottles of water and were screaming for him! Its not what you go through to get there, it is what the finish line brings!!

Larry1  No fear puts me on the bike. Repeating to my self "no pain, no pain, no pain, ..... keeps me going. being big enough to get my self out of things that I got myself into might help me complete. (from dad and other mentors)

Larry 1 wednes ride was hard. into a 20 to 30 mph head wind. same for thursday ride. I am physically drained.. It is painfull for a fat man to ride into the strong wind all day. there where many times when the wind stopped me from going forward on a flat run stretch. Tom and Laura I am not sure I could make it to your home on the last day. I will text you where I fall to the ground and stop and let you know the plans I have at that point. Maybe you will need to bring a lift to get me into tom's truck and a "road kill shovel". Maybe an extra day to finish just need to find a place to stay when I collapse.
